    Description

The school was established in 1984 and is run by nuns from the Private Monastery “Daughters of Mary” and is situated in the Zabbaleen area " Garbage City" at the foot of the Mokattam Mountains. In Cairo, there are 60,000-70,000 Zabbaleen. Most of the people live in and around the Garbage City area. The nuns of the “Daughters of Mary” Monastery started their service in this place because they wanted to develop it through education, and accordingly the school was established along with the help of “Sister Emmanuelle”, a French nun, taught well-off children in convent schools in Istanbul, but always desired to serve the under-privileged. Today, there is still a percentage of children working with their parents due to their financial difficulties. However, the school covers 50% of the Annual Tuition fees and students pay only the other half.
